Dopo la distruzione della Morte Nera i ribelli stanno compattando le fila per combattere l'Impero che ha in mente di ricominciare la costruzione della sua arma segreta. Luke Skywalker, scampato ad un attacco sul pianeta Hoth, si sposta nel sistema Dagobah per essere addestrato dal maestro Yoda e finalmente diventare un vero Jedi.
