Doggy Style, film diretto da Josh Greenbaum, racconta la storia di Reggie, un Border Terrier dall'indole ottimista, che viene abbandonato dal suo padrone Doug (Will Forte), un essere ignobile, per le vie della città. Innocentemente Reggie crede che non sia stata una cosa voluta e che il suo amato padrone non farebbe mai una cosa così spregevole, come abbandonarlo. In seguito il cane incontra Bug, un Boston Terrier randagio, per nulla elegante, con una bella parlantina, amante della sua libertà e che non si fida per nulla della bontà dei padroni. Grazie a lui, Reggie riesce a capire che lo smarrimento di Doug era intenzionale e premeditato e di quanto l'uomo sia una persona orribile e senza sentimenti.
Deciso a vendicarsi, Reggie si allea con Bug e con altri cani, tutti rimasti delusi dagli esseri umani. Tra questi vi sono: il brillante Pastore Australiano Maggie, che è stata sostituita con un cucciolo dal suo padrone, e l'ansioso alano Hunter, stanco del suo impiego come animale da supporto emotivo. Il gruppo decide di mettere su un piano per aiutare il loro amico. Innanzitutto, dovranno rintracciare la cada di Doug e poi vendicarsi dell'uomo, mordendogli l'estremità di se stesso a cui lui è più affezionato.
Il cast originali vede in veste di doppiatori Will Ferrell, Isla Fisher, Randall Park e Jamie Foxx.
