Il diritto di uccidere è un film del 2015 diretto da Gavin Hood. Il colonnello dell'esercito inglese Katherine Powell (Helen Mirren) viene incaricata di dirigere una delicata operazione internazionale, supervisionata dal generale Frank Benson (Alan Rickman), per eliminare un gruppo di terroristi dell' Al-Shabaab, nascosti in Kenya. La missione prevede che Powell utilizzi un comando da remoto per sganciare alcuni potenti missili nel covo dei terrorisiti. Sul luogo vi sono degli agenti sotto copertura che monitorano la situazione, affinché il lancio dei missili non causi la morte di civili innocenti. Il luogotenente Steve Watts (Aaron Paul), invece, è incaricato di azionare i comandi. Quando tutto sembra essere pronto per la conclusione della missione, una bambina con l'hula hoop si avvicina pericolosamente all'obbiettivo e Powell si troverà ad affrontare un gravoso dilemma morale.
