"Attraverso Batsashvili, Liszt parla a una nuova generazione", ha scritto la rivista Pianist. Liszt occupa un posto d'onore nel secondo album Warner Classics di Mariam Batsashvili, dedicato principalmente a trascrizioni per pianoforte evocative e tecnicamente formidabili di opera, canzoni e musica d'organo. Tra le opere ci sono le realizzazioni di Liszt del Liebestod dal Tristano e Isotta di Wagner, una spettacolare interpretazione dell'opera di Bellini La sonnambula dal grande rivale di Liszt, Sigismondo Thalberg, e l'adattamento di Harold Bauer del Prélude, Fugue et Variation di César Franck. Parlando di Liszt, Mariam Batsashvili afferma: “Sia che stesse trascrivendo arie d'opera o canzoni d'arte, si proponeva di evocare i sentimenti dei mondi drammatici e poetici dell'opera originale senza alcuna esagerazione e, a mio avviso, ci riuscì con grande forza e verità”.
