Di fronte al calo delle vendite della loro prima uscita post-Fish Season's End, i rocker progressisti Marillion si sono accoppiati con il produttore pop Christopher Neil per Holidays in Eden del 1991. Non è stata esattamente una mossa che ha pagato dividendi commerciali o artistici, poiché i risultati sono così diluiti e blandi che si può solo sperare che questo sia stato un disperato tentativo di placare la loro etichetta. C'erano diversi singoli che sono entrati nelle classifiche nel Regno Unito, ma avrebbero potuto essere eseguiti da chiunque o, peggio, nel caso delle chitarre che squillano in "Cover My Eyes", sembra che vogliano reinventarsi come U2. È un disco che sicuramente deluderà i fan del loro lavoro più progressista e, mancando di una personalità distintiva, difficilmente susciterà entusiasmo tra i nuovi arrivati.
