Dopo il loro ultimo singolo ‘Cracker Island (ft. Thundercat)’, i Gorillaz annunciano la pubblicazione del loro nuovo album in studio dal titolo ‘Cracker Island’, in uscita il 24 febbraio 2023 su etichetta Parlophone. In attesa dell’uscita dell’album la band pubblica il brano ‘New Gold ft. Tame Impala & Bootie Brown‘, suonato per la prima volta dal vivo all’All Points East Festival di Londra all’inizio del mese. La band è stata raggiunta sul palco dai Tame Impala, il progetto musicale psichedelico del polistrumentista australiano Kevin Parker, e dal collaboratore di lunga data Bootie Brown della band hip hop alternative di South Central Los angeles The Pharcyde.
